Village Oaks has been recognized as a State School of Character by Character.org.

Village Oaks was one of three schools in Michigan and 67 in the country to earn the distinction.

"We are thrilled to be recognized as a State School of Character," said Village Oaks Principal Alex Ofili. "We are all very proud to be part of an inclusive learning community where we celebrate our diverse population and work collaboratively to promote great character in each one of our student leaders.

"As a school, we are committed to leading with HEART; this award is a testament to our daily efforts to develop the whole child."
